BioDiesel processor

Many of you have been asking for details so I finally got some pics of my BD processor and other equipment. See the link in the album description for how the processor works and also see pic descriptions for info on whats in the pictures.
BioDiesel Processor and Equipment pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots

So far (200 gallons) my truck like this fuel and the processor works well except my Grundfos pump has died this week. But so far I have some fine tuning to do once I decide what to do. The filtering of finished fuel is the biggest bottle neck my set up. I am contemplating a centrifuge to help with that.

TJ, looks like a killer set-up to me. So the Super Sucker is what you use to retrieve the waste oil? How does that work? I didn't see any pump on it?

So how is that working? Are you running on JUST the fuel you have made, or are you running a mix? If your running on just that fuel, I would like you to give me some, free of charge.
Where do I send the check for your kids college fund donation since you started? I think you see where this is going...>

I pull a vacuum on it with a 12 vacuum pump (takes 10-15 minutes, will soon be mounted on the tank) then pull up to my barrel and open the valves on the hose. Sucks a 55 gallon drum clean in a few minutes (by few I mean less than 5) then to empty I put pressure to it (10-20psi) then via a dip tube where the large hose goes in the oil is pushed out.

I am running it straight on what I have made other than any diesel that was in the tank when I started. I have run about 4 tanks thru straight and few mixed. The truck loves it! Sorry I don't have enough to supply my needs at this point. And I am leary of selling it. Selling it mean I am liable for damages if I mess a batch up.

I will bring you one free if you send me a free check for about $2000. parts plus labor! I have another tank just like it. Bought both tanks from a guy here who up graded. he is a sheet metal fabricator so these two tanks are very nice! then after I got the tanks I added the lid and all the plumbing. I really did turn out well. I can process about 40 gallons at a time but I do about 38 gallons batches right now. Works out better in metrics.

Thats sweet TJ i like the setup! could you use a 55 gal. drum for the processor also till someone could buy a different tank? How much does your fuel cost in the end approx.? do you get your oil for free or do you buy it from a retailer?

You could use a 55 gallon drum but getting them to drain clean is an issue. You might be able to find a sheet metal shop to make a cone that you can weld on a drum.

My fuel runs about .79/gallon not including time or electricity. thats with free oil. I only have 3 sources right now. 2 are free and one I pay .20/gallon. Working on a fourth restaurant right now.

Talking

Well looking at your pics, I felt like in the years of the prohibition with the whisky (twenties) LOL. And now you can put an ad with this title: TJ´s, BIODIESEL DISTILLERY since 2008.

Congrats.

Considering the demand for oil in some area's $.35/gallon is pretty good. I know one rendering company around here is paying $.40/gallon.

Well, if we are talking about free, do you give free tours of this nice looking setup?

Tours are free! But they are only offered to those who are farther than 100 miles away. I don't want top create any more competition for oil!! LOL
