I bought a jensen radio a while back, and the stupid volume control wore out, so now i can't turn my volume up. and this is after having my aerostar all apart re-wiring my speakers saturday. I am mad. What can I do about it, aside from buying a new radio? Getting that radio out is not fun! I knew I should have listened to people when they said don't get a jensen. I have the same radio in my buick, maybe i should take it back before it breaks too.
What type of controls are they? Well, it really doesn't matter - either way the only ways I have found to have radio's fixed are to either: a) send them back to the manufactuer, or b) finad a local electronics shop that can do it also.
I recommend sending it to Jenson. I had a Pioneer that one of the push buttons on the face gave out. I called them and gave them a good lecture on how this was the last thing I would buy that said Pioneer on it, and they said mail it to them. About a week later, a box arrived with a newer model radio than I had sent in. Brand new.
Never hurts to try, especially if you have 2 of them...
Just my opinion of course...
Thanks, i'll try. What do i do for a radio in the mean time though? I commute an hour and a half one way to work, and that radio sure makes the drive better! I suppose i could put the factory unit back in, but a) i'd have to re-wire the speakers again, and b) it isn't loud enough, as the aerostar was a noisy van. Especially at 80 on the interstate. Do you know where the amp is located on an aerostar? i re did my wiring to bypass it. just curious though.
