Now I know a lot of people go for big-buck 10,000 watt glass shattering sound in their trucks, but I don't need that. I have been looking at amps with 75-125 watts per channel RMS and 100-225 watts peak. Some of these brands are not known to me. Does anyone have an opinion on the following brands? Pyle, Profile, Mobile Authority, and Lanzar. I know Pyle has been around quite a while. We used to have PyleDrivers in the '70's. Any of them decent?
I have never owned any of those, but for a low cost amp that does very well, you might look towards Pioneer. I have used some of their amps in the past and have been very satisfied.
I know that Mobile Authority, and Profile are good. I have installed them in some of my friends cars, and they have been happy with the results. I have herd that profile is good for the money. Also check out www.the-substation.com they sell a bunch of brands of amps. Try DHD amps, I have never herd them for myself, but the price is right, and I have had some people recomend them to me.
Thanks for the help, guys. Things have changed a lot in aftermarket audio equipment in the last 15 years. cobraxp, you post a lot of info in the audio section. Are you a salesman or installer, or just a well versed enthusiast?
Not a salesman, have done some installing - I used to compete in IASCA about 10 years ago. Things have really changed since then, but I still love my music. I still have a couple of friends who have stereo shops where I try to keep up with things...
Just here to try and help out when I can. I know what it is like to work blind on stuff. I enjoy working on my ride and enjoy helping people out when I can...
Well, I appreciate all the help and info I can get. I still remember hanging the FM/8Track players under dash and getting some Jensen coaxials to set on the rear deck. Now, that was quality sound!!!
I would have liked more options on the factory sound system, but such is life. I drive 100,000 miles a year, mostly by myself, and I need more than what Uncle Henry has provided.
