Hey John, Its great to see other Alabama folks into old trucks, you said you work with several people from the Cullman area, you by chance work for AT&T? I'm afraid to call Atkins and see what the waiting list is like, not to mention it would probably take me a year to budget for their prices. But when I do call I will give you a holler.
54 Gene & kripfink, thanks for the compliments on the truck, a sharper looking paint job and new bed will be my next projects. That is if and when I can srape together the big bucks thats going to require. kripfink that is one awsome job you done on that panel truck.
Gene I LOVE that color you got your truck, and it certainly Number one in my book compared to the 2004!
Sorry 53 pickemuptruck, I didn't see your reply, yep I'm proud of that ol girl, yes girl!!! How much of a pain was it to install you wood bed, and will I have to disasemble to install one? I'm guessing I should put the bed in before new paint? Your truck will be one fnsweet ride when your all done. Take care
Kathy

You do have a beautiful truck. Someday mine will look that good. I'm also wondering how much of a pian installing a new wood bed is. I'm think though for us, we'll have to wait until we get the bodywork all done as there is alot of rust and all the cross beams are gone. Haven't looked closely but there will be some reconstructive surgery going on prior to the bed.
not AT&T I worked for years for US Steel here in Fairfield, after retiring, went to work for a Cullman Co. Colburn Construction Inc. They do pipefitting and ind maint at USS plant in Fairfield... good folks, treat me like family and pay me WELL
I'd love to know what Akins would charge for a f--100 interior... bet it will put a hole in your visa card
Hey Sharon, sounds like you have alot of work ahead of you, but that way when your
doing it yourself you know you have a solid truck. My truck had a frame off restoration, and that guy did a great job, but when he sold it to the next guy, oh he was a disaster.
He is the one who used old seatbelt buckles for tailgate latches, and done a half a** job on the interior. So you get the picture of what he was like.
John Hey I was just curious of your employment, because my hubby and son work for AT&T, Dennis works in Birmingham and Jason in Decatur. You said you worked for the steel company, did you know a guy named Scotty James? When I get in touch with Adkins I will give you a shout.
birdman Thanks for checking out my gallery, will try to get it updated with what we have redone on it.

The bed wood wasn't too bad.You have too sand stain and seal it all first. Disassembly is a must and I.d paint first .The edge boards are a tight fit and you have to remove some wood, bevel the edge a little. Its really worth the effort ,you end up with a snazzy looking bed. Good luck. And show us your results.Keep on Truckin!
kathy1, i'm putting new bed together as we speek, going out to install tail gate now, you want to paint everything before wood install, outside boards slide under bottom lip on bedsides if your going to use pre routed regular bed wood from a vendor,Garry
