I have an early 99 7.3l and I"m trying to install the 6637 air filter, my only problem is that my air intake hose didn't fit over it, so I got a piece of 4" pvc pipe, but now I'm still having issues fitting it in. any ideas!!???

I know the early '99's are a PITA, but if you got 4" OD pipe it should go together. If it's real close use a hair dryer on the air intake hose to enable it to stretch just that little bit you need. Good luck.
Is yours an early 99 or a 99.5 ? If your an early 99 then you will have to mod the pipes a little. I had no luck finding the thread. search somthing like 99.5 6637. Theres a small modification you have to do
Oh boy Chris, as much as I care for you and all of your wisdom and hard work here, is that not what I said in post #2?
Yes it is Mark. I was just trying to point out the 3" coupler was what he was looking for. The tag on the shelf won't give him an OD measurement and the kind folks at the big box hardware stores are usually less than full of helpful information.
Was it the regular white pvc stuff? Usually the couplers have a 1/4" wall and an outside diameter of 4". Have you put a tape measure up to measure how big it is? PVC goes from 3" to 4", so you won't find a 3 1/2" piece. Are both ends of your coupler the same size? Maybe you picked up a street elbow by accident.

I seem to remember reading that you have to add an angle piece to get it to fit right. I have a stage II so I don't know.
