Diesel Alternitives??

OK, I'm very interested in crossing over to an alternitive fuel source. The one that I have found to be the cheapest, with no conversion, is from dieselsecret.com. One has to be sceptical about what you put in your fuel tank and I'm asking if anyone has on-hand experiance with this product. Over-all cost per gallon is 46c. Even if fuel economy goes down, I get 14 in town and 25mpg hwy with my 04 250. Only mod is k&n filter. Like everyone else, I'm tired of these high fuel costs. We should be happy that we aren't paying what Europeans are.. 'bout $10.60 gal. Thanks in advance for your feed-back!

You get 25 mpg hwy and you're complaining about fuel costs??? That either has to be a record or your math is wrong. I get 17 hwy / 11 city. My dad's '03 is all stock and best its ever gotten was 19 hwy running 65.

65 seems to be the magic number with mine as well. Don't know about a record or any thing but my math is correct.. filled my tank before a road trip, interstate 95% of the way, trip was 96mi overall. Got back in town, filled back up totaling just under 4gals. Actual mpg was around 24.7 or so.

You can't calculate it on a short trip like that, just because it never fills up to the same point consistently. I can add another 5 gallons after it kicks off the first time. You need to run a full tank or average several fillups to get an accurate reading.

Maybe he's calculating a UK gallon, I've put over 1000km's on a single tank, about 110 liters, I think that comes out somewhere around 22 mpg in the states and 26 mpg in the UK
