Just got my programmer in and not sure if I should go ahead and program the truck or wait till my intake comes in, and do it all at once. Also, I read the instructions that came with the programmer and they said to make sure nothing was on that would drop the voltage on the truck. What are they talking about, radio?, lights?, etc.....Advice is always better than %#$*@!^ it up.Thanks

Yes, they mean lights, radio, etc. I made that mistake once.... I had a 98 Camaro Z28 that I was trying to program in the garage. Well, the car thought it was dark out and it turned the lights on. I didn't notice and I started the tune (which you can't stop once you start).
The battery died about 75% of the way through it. I then had to have the GM Dealer flash the GM tune on it, so then I could re-tune it. Thank god it died at the GM Dealer in the shop, or I would have had to tow it in.
I don't know what year V-10 you have,
but I put a superchips programer on my 07',
and the difference was minimal. Plus it requires
that you use the high octane gas. With the high
fuel cost any more, I just leave it at stock.
But I also have a 6-speed, so there it could'nt
change the shift points.

You can tune the truck prior to installing the intake. The intake doesn'affect anything. When reflashing the truck keep everything turned off, radio, lights, chimes and etc. I also pull my fuel pump fuse when reflashing my truck just to make shure it doesn't kick on during the flash. Be patient when reflashing and take your time, or else a tow to the dealer may be necessary.
Thanks guys. I will make sure I do all that was said. My year V10 is a 99. As to fuel prices, the truck is not an everyday driver. But, what is $4.00 more for a tank of fuel when it already $90.00 to fill up any way. If anyone else has any more feedback, I will take to heart. Thanks
