SCT has released new recalibrated file for programmers.
Several months ago I had bought an intake and programmer for my 05 6.0. After installing it I wasn't to happy with the difference. I could tell it had made a difference but not as much as I had expected.
The new recalibrated file that SCT release on 01-25-07 for the Strategy programmers made a big difference on my truc. The "street" programs feels way more agressive. After I downloaded it and reprogrammed my programmer I tried the Street programming on my truck which can now easily break the tires lose.
The mods on my trucks are a 4" cat back, cat delete, S&B intake and a disconnected EGR.
I did not do a comparison with the old programming before installing the new one, but if someone out there hasn't upgraded yet, I like to see some before and after info.
I got the downloads the day after I got my loader. The ones that came on it were junk. Actually made alot more power but driveability sucked. I could roll into the throttle and then all the sudden it would go wide open. No way to ease it all the way in. The new flash listed (9415B) is much better as far as driveability but does not seem as powerfull.
Custom tunes are the only way to go. The standard programs have no way of working the same on every vehicle. Custom tunes can be personally tweaked to your truck and likes and dislikes. it is a no brainer for me. Thanks LIPD
I live on the West Coast and don't know if I need the truck to be on a dyno to get a custom tune from your shop. From the posts I can tell you guys have a ton of experience with the 6.0 and would like to see what kind of options you have for remote customers like me.
There is an SCT tuner in Grover Beach which is about 80 miles from where I live put I'd more comfortable if I knew they were as good as your shop.
I am right in the middle of taking apart everything that is in the way of the pre-turbo exhaust flange so I can drill a hole and put in an EGT thermocouple. What a pain in the !@!#.
Anyway once I now what my EGT's are I will be looking to re-program.

The files can be delivered over email.
While it is always best to live tune (or even better, dyno tune the truck) you can still make many improvents over email; especially compared to the base files from SCT.
Once I get my gauges installed(if they will ever arrive) and my exhaust I am going to get matt to email me the more aggressive race tune. I have a mild custom race tune that I am running right now and you wouldn't believe the difference. I mean the turbo lag is pretty well a non issue and the increase in power is unbelievable.
