My AC doesn't get that cold, something has to be wrong because im in Alaska and the AC is blowing fairly warm for AC. Sucks because my trucks black so it cooks in there. I haven't had time to look at it yet just wondering if anyone had an idea of what would cause it.
Compressor not working due to blown fuse, bad wiring etc. etc.
Switch on dash bad.
Blend door stuck to warm. Makes sense since it is probably on "warm" most of year.
If it were mine I would start it and turn it to MAX AC and go look and see if the compressor is turning. If it isn't I would verify the pressure of the refrigerant first then move to electrical troubleshooting.
Don't forget to check for debris (cottonwood seeds) between radiator & condensor cores.
If airflow is blocked the heat transfer rate is significantly reduced.
Use a blowgun to blow out the fins. Just not to aggressive as to flatten aluminum fins.
When i bought my 05 it was used and the ac did not get cold. When I took it back they said it was a a diode not sure if that is the right name but that is what they said. It must have been a easy fix because it only took about 20-30 minutes to fix.
I'll mention a couple of other things since I just went through this on my 93 mustang.....
plugged orifice tube
bad ac clutch
bad low pressure switch
I had all the above. I knew clutch was bad, heard it screeching and whatnot. Changed it then it worked for a couple of hours, then wouldn't engage. Bypassed the low pressure switch and clutch would engage again. Changed the low pressure switch on the top of the ac drier, and that fixed that. Ac blew kinda cold but pressure was high on the low side system didn't want to take a full charge before over pressure. I changed orifice tube line (had to change entire line in my 93) and refilled to capacity. Worked great, ac worked again. I should mention I'm in central florida so I REALLY needed the ac to work.
I will also mention I was switching from R12 as it had a leak and I recharged with standard R134a. This worked for 3-4 days and then leaked down to 0 psi. I refilled with leak detector/leak stop but used R134a+ version and can say the air was much colder than the standard 134a. The guy at the parts store told me there was no difference, but from personal observation, I experienced much colder air with the "NASA" 134a+ stuff. I am know thinking of replacing all the 134a in the excursion to 134a+. My ex blows coldish, but the mustang is freezing. Its a convertible with black top so it BAKES in the florida sun and it still will freeze your *** on reg AC. My EX will barely keep you cool on max with the vents pointed right at you with all three zones on full blower.

I have no experience working with the A/C unit and have no idea how to check any of that stuff. It sounds normal and runs fine, it just blows air like its turned to 60* but and you dont have the A/C setting on. So its running cool not cold. I might just take it in to the dealer and have them take a look. Its getting to be in the 70s here and with a black truck it is killing me.
Sorry AK just had to laugh at that one. I've got a black EX too except its 98 degrees here in Florida. I know its all relative, your 70 is like my 98 to you. Don't mean to come off sarcastic or anything, but for us Floridians, Texans, Arizonans, etc, thats just funny.
Now tell us 40 degrees and our heat doesn't work and we probably whining like a bunch of babies and you'd just think that was a nice refreshing morning to open all the doors and windows. Once agin its all relative.
