Plug for block heater

Anybody know how much the plug for the block heater is? Just curious as I am planning a trip to the Alaska and my Florida truck didn't come with it.

I'm in VA and mine came with it. You have to really look for it behind the bumper behind the passenger side fog light area.

I don't know about the 6.4L, but my 6.0L was $24.00 from an International dealer.

Mine definitely does not have the plug. I am in one of those states that they supply the block heater but not the plug. Kinda funny but I guess Ford's cost-cutting measures.

Demolition,
Check with your local International Truck dealer. I just picked up one for my truck for just over 19 bucks. The International part # ZBL3600008.

My 05 6.0 litre came with the block heater but no cord. I called Ford and they wanted $100 bucks for it.
So I took it back to where I had just bought it and they put it on for free.
$100 seems a little steep for a 6ft exstension cord!

Thx, I wouldn't mind $19. No way I would pay $100 either! Maybe Ford will comp mine too...

I just went through the same thing as you can see, I'm buying it myself. The best the dealer would do was going to be splitting it 50/50 which is still 50 bucks.

Do all the 08 super dutys with a diesel at least come with the block heater installed even if the cords are not there?

Yes, you just need to buy the cord and plug it in.

Thanks for the response. Do you know where the heater is located on the motor? Thanks in advance again.

ajm, it's been a while since I put mine on, but it's on the passenger side near the starter. It's in a really tight place but you can get at it. There's some sort of cap on the heater, I don't remember if it is a twist off or just pop off. The plug will only go on 1 way. I fiddled with it for 30 minutes and was about to give up but I turned the plug in around 180 degrees and it fell right in.

Just installed mine yesterday. It came with directions for routing. $100 from Ford. Hardest part was getting the cable over the crossmember. Darn engine compt is just as full underneath. I got lucky and the plug fell right in.
