starting/ electrical problem
i have an 03 6.0
When i turn the key to let the glowplugs go- it takes way longer than usual for the light on the dash to turn off- and when i turn the key, the dash (guages) go dead, then flicker, then dead, as the thing struggles to start taking way too long to crank over. Once ive driven it and turn it off i can usually resart with none of these problems.
here's what else has recently happened- last week my window controls (drivers) fried- i even smelled it and sure enough the back passenger window control wouldnt work- had the circuit board replaced (by dealer) and everything worked fine till this week and i noticed that when i tried to roll down my windows (with the X off- it was a hot day) the back 2 windows wouldnt work. then i immediately tried to start it- and the same starting problems as i said in the 1st paragraph-once it started and ran- i could turn it off and resart with no problems and all windows work.
in may had the oil changed- they checked the batteries and claimed they were in good shape.
any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
thanks
Your batteries are 5 years old. I would consider replacing them. Do not skimp and buy the highestquality and highest cranking amp batteries you can find. I hope this helps. Good luck
