I recently went to Jiffy Lube had the transmission flushed and changed the oil in the transfer case. Now my truck is making a knocking noise when i slow down to stop, accelerate, and drive in reverse. It does not do it all the time but about half the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated i'm towing a 6x12 trailer 2000 miles in 10 days from now and would like to figure this out before my trip.
You mentioned "oil" in the transfer case. Is that what they put in there? gear oil? If so, you had better have them drain it out. The T-case takes roughly 2 quarts of ATF just like the transmission.

I dont know what they put in the T-Case, but i do know that they put some of there tranny fluid in the tranny and i paid extra for a additive they said would make it mercon-v
Mercron V is a fully synthetic transmission fluid. No additive can be added to standard transmission fluid to make it meet Mercron V specifications. Either do it yourself or take it to the dealer for a fluid change using Mercon V. Good luck!
I think you're problem can be identified by "Jiffy Lube" alone.. I've never had any luck at those quick lube places. I think twice was all it took for jiffy lube to put the wrong weight oil in my truck when I EXPLICITLY told them to put the correct oil in - its even printed on the dang filler cap! Another place I tried to get the trans fluid flushed and they couldn't get the lines off without worrying they were going to break or strip something on the radiator. From those experiences I will NEVER take my rig to a quick lube place (esp. jiffy lube). Instead I do it myself or pay the premium and take it to the dealer.
