I just know slowing down will save you dollars. I know some folks do not need to save dollars. Just don't threaten me with your 5000 lb vehicle. Remember, this. I have a large truck. I have a fast car. But I also have a Hyundai, to do my daily driving with.
You threaten me with your 5000 lb rig, and I might just respond with ways to defend myself!
I have 2 vehicles ... A big 4x4 diesel and a "smaller" 4x4 gasser ... They get about the same mpg ... The gasser gets about 10% better tho I think ... I drive 3 miles round trip for work and still manage to burn a tank every 3 weeks ... I take the f250 out every 2 weeks, run it in 4-wheel for about 2 miles on the beach then 2 miles on the road back to the house ... Its tanks last a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggg time ...A person makes sacrifices when they have to ...
Oh yeah ... I made $ 15,000 last year and expect the same this year ...
If gas reaches $5.50-$6 a gallon, I really don't think I'll be able to afford to go to work anymore. And by that time, a POS Geo Metro or Civic/CRX would be worth more than my truck...so I won't even be able to sell it. No one wants a truck that gets 7mpg even if gas is right at $3/gal.
And if I can't afford gas, then I damn sure can't afford a motorcycle...
I'm already spending $60/week in gas...and that's just back and forth to work and maybe one trip to a friend's house on the weekends...
When gas was only $1.85 I spent about $225-250 a month to go to work. Now it is a lot higher. If gas reaches $5/ gallon, I am spending about three nights a week sleeping on the floor of the office. I think $5/ gallon is my breaking point.
