OH THAT...

I thought you were talking about the BS excuses for the price hikes.

(Silly me)

I like the "BOSS HOG" explanation:

"I am merely attempting to keep my dear sister in the amount of grits to which she is accustomed..."

I do agree that gas will never run out....im 100% sure its still being made in the ground from some other source other then "dinosuars" and there for is a renewable resource.

I do though, think there is a limit gas will go. If you think about it, there is a limit it can go to, where they will make the same money ethier way.

By this i mean, say gas got to 4.00 a gallon, sure we still need that 4.00 gas for work, but at that price we will waste time driving around or still be driving our v8 truck? No, therefor when they raise gas to 4.00 they will be getting 1/2 the amount of people buying gas, and for the most part, make the same or less money. Im going to luagh when that "sh-it" hits the fan and the government realizes they cant riase gas anymore!
All raiseing prices are doing is forcing us to conserve more gas. Not for them to make more profit. Id say the limit is about 3.50 a gallon, anymore then that and we will be buying MUCH less gas then we do now at 2.50 a gallon and the profits go down the crapper!

Just my 2 cents, lol I dont even drive yet and im pissed off at this danm gas price b.s!!!!

Oh yeah...it'll never run out. That's what they said about the trees where the Sahara is, in the mountains of Afghanistan, and in many denuded parts of Europe.

Yeah but keep in mind that the groceries niether get to the store nor come home from them without fuel.

The price of fuel affects the price of everything. What do I mean when I say everything? I mean:

EVERYTHING!!!

Lettuce, celery, ground beef, sirloin, taquitos, chimichangas, PIZZA, BEER, video games, glass, metal, fuel, furniture, television sets, computers, X-BOXES...

You get the picture

They don't get from piers or railroad sidings to retailers by mule trains anymore.
And if that isn't enough, think about jet fuel.

Yah, we pay some of the best fuel prices in the world yet we cry louder then anyone else. Sure I've bought gas for less then 80 cents a gallon years ago but a lot of things have tripled since then too. It is what it is.............

I was sure because of the word Gas they mean Natural Gas ?

They can't possibly mean Gasoline which is quite different as it is refined from OIL that is extracted from the ground which comes from Rotting vegetation not dinosaur matter.

Lets estimate weekly gasoline consumption, not counting trucks, planes, and home heating.
I'll estimate there are 7 Billion people living on earth. I'll guess that 1 billion drive a car or some other four-wheel or two-wheel contraption. I'll guess that the average amount of gasoline or diesel used per week by each driver is 11 gallons.
The equation looks like this: 1,000,000,000 drivers times 11 gallons equals 11,000,000,000 gallons.
How about figuring the yearly consumption...11,000,000,000 gallons/week times 52 weeks equals 572 Billion gallons per year.
572 Billion gallons!!!!! If you use a figure of 6.5 pounds per gallon, the total weight of that fuel is 3.718 trillion pounds.

My point..that is alot of oil, and it has to run out sooner or later, it may not run out for 10,000 years, or due to political, environmental, or technological problems we may have trouble getting enough oil sometime in the next 10 years.
I researched( googled) "world oil reserves" and there is no hard data anywhere that proves how much oil there is. There isn't a world council in charge of finding, counting, and estimating how much oil we have. Nations, skew their information about what they process and how much they have in reserve, and how much is yet to be discovered.

It is all a big game!!!

What I'm sure of is that oil is in high demand, which in turn, puts the average consumer at an extreme disadvantage. Even if we could organize the world, and make a gigantic conservation effort, it wouldn't stop the price increases.
Because the people that have the oil will simply cut back production, and keep raising the rates.

I guess there is no point in worrying about oil and gas prices, cause there isn't a darn thing we can do about them.

We havent even touched 10% of all the underground oil in the world...

Either way...If it gets close to $3.50/gal...I will be riding my motorcycle 90% of the time, and converting the truck to Propane and only use it for rainy days/winter

I know dang well that the oil companies can easily charge $1.50/gal and still come out way ahead money-wise

i'm on a fixed income called retired by the the way of a broken uo worn out body. on ssd. my mortage, food , medicine comes first now. and the price i saw today of 2.99.9 said the rest. it's chain saw time for heat by road sides and the downed trees.
i have one toy left my 2003 bayliner bow rider and thats for sale. nothing left. but hope the prices go down again . any one check propane prices lately. 100 pound tank for cooking was 5.69.9 a gal to fill my 500gal was 3,21.9.
i personally know the one prince from the u.a.e. who wanted to buy the port operation rights. he said blame it on china grabbing up what they now find they need because they don't have their own inferstructor to pull up and refine what they know they have and that it may take 20 years for them to do so.

I don't know if they do that here but I do use over 1000 Gal a year. Between september and febuary I used 900 alone. I'm trying to install an outdoor furnace, but am getting resistance from the zoning officer because I live in a flood plain.
