Trans Problem??
Well, I have a '05 Escape 2.3L Automatic 2-wheel drive. I have a bit of a problem with the tranny sticking and having a difficult time shifting into reverse and from reverse to drive. I am also feeling a vibration when traveling between 30-45 mph through the gas pedal. the escape is approching 85K miles and I do believe that the trans has never been serviced. Would a trans flush work? I know it is a gamble either way. Also, is the trans filter/screen repaceable?

05 auto-Trans Problems...
<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Ok, question... I have a 05' Escape with the 2.3L I4 and Automatic 2-wheel drive. How can I tell what transmission (CD4E) mine has in it. I will call and setup a appointment in the morning to get it flushed. I do want to make sure that they replace the fluids with the correct one. The Trans-Dip Stick states Mercon V. I have read in other forums that Ford stopped using Mercon V due to problems in the CD4E trans and reverted back to using Mercon. Can any one verify this and tell me where I can verify what trans model I have?
