<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Sorry for the Double post but i really need help!
I am in the middle of hooking up a set of off road lights to my upfitters, (switch 1) I installed everything I thought the proper way, but now all of my electronics an lights are flickering and the truck wont start, i turn the key and it makes a clicking sound that doesn't sound very good. The lights are KC hilites 50 series 100w a peice and i ran the red wire directly to the upfitter switch and ran the black wire to a ground to the right of the fuse box, I have checked the wire around and to the best I can tell everthing looks okay, please help the last thing I want to do is tow it to the dealership 2005 xlt 5.4 4x4

First things first double and tripple check all of your wiring. Next is a question. Are you trying to turn your lights on with the engine off? If you are that won't work. Lights of that size will pull down a battery very fast. Start the truck, then turn on the light. Next, I believe upfitter switches #1 & #2 are both 20 amp capable and #3 and #4 for 10 amp. You might have to run one light per switch, although I think this unlikely. If starting the engine and then turning on the lights causes the engine to die you might need to check your alternator.
It could be a bad connection in your battery cables, either at the post connection or within the cable itself. I've had them go bad where the lead clamp is cast on the end of the cable - the connection looks great but the bad connection is inside of the lead clamp where you can't see it. You also may have accidently loosened the main B+ connection that provides power to the fuse boxes and the rest of the vehicle. Also, your battery may have just cooincidentally gone south on you.
Don't panic. Get a voltage meter and start at the battery and work your way back through the main power circuits. Sometimes what appears to be the biggest problems are actually pretty basic fixes and this sounds like it may be one of them.
That's pretty witty NorCalBusa! Yea, I completely freaked out for no reason, just a dead battery. Not to good with electrical systems, i didn't relize the battery could be dead and still have enough power for the radio aond headlights. I'm a newby, thanks again.
P.S I usaully get the " No S#@T Sherlock, keep digging Watson"
