Help Uregent!!

I am in the middle of hooking up a set of off road lights to my upfitters, (switch 1) I installed everything I thought the proper way, but now all of my electronics an lights are flickering and the truck wont start, i turn the key and it makes a clicking sound that doesn't sound very good. The lights are KC hilites 50 series 100w a peice and i ran the red wire directly to the upfitter switch and ran the black wire to a ground to the right of the fuse box, I have checked the wire around and to the best I can tell everthing looks okay, please help the last thing I want to do is tow it to the dealership 2005 xlt 5.4 4x4

I'm no electrical guru but I would try a battery charger before panicking too much. It's not hard to drain a battery while working under the dash. Just my .02 .

Did you run it "directly" to the switch? if so you should be running it to the orange/light green wire (AUX1, blunt cut wire in the harness below the steering column). See link for help.
You may have killed your battery. Disconnect your new lights and try jumping the truck or use a battery charger. Once you have started it (hopefully) check battery with a Digital Volt Meter (DVM) and confirm you alternator is ok. You should have about 14-14.5 volts while running. The lighting system will draw in excess of 16 amps so stick with AUX1 or 2 switch.

well hopefully your ok. Pretty much all newer vehicles have extensive fusing and relay circuits for protection. Many people tend to wire (high and low current devices) into unknown or non fused circuits just to get their devices working quickly which can and has caused major catastrophic results. I tend to prefer producing my own fused/relay circuits keeping it out of the stock set-up. This way if i have a general electrical problem i can isolate the problem or even eliminate my own circuit as the problem.

Honestly I would have run the hot wire from the lights to a standard bosch relay and use the upfitter as a trigger wire. With that set up your not trying to draw too much from the stock system. When I do mine I plan to do di that way even though my whelen switch pannel will handle it. Coming here soon, once I get back on my feet money wise, I am going to rewire all my accesories and clean up the look, and hide almost everything

Not a problem, sometimes you HAVE to bounce stuff off other people when you've been under the dash too long
