PROBLEMS .... any one got an answer?
my dads 1999 ford ranger with the 2.5L with an automatic...
the ANTI LOCK BRAKES light is on and the transmission will not shift out of first gear
???????????????????????? any one know whats up?

Sounds like a Speed Sensor issue. Is the speedometer working correctly?

while its running. the truck is drive able just cant go above 25 with out blowing it up in first gear.. ya know?

sounds like a tranny problem, can you turn the vehicle off or shift it into other gears, if yes your tranny is toast!

no it goes in park. just while drivin down the road it doesn't like tell itself to shift to second or third

no, unless your brakes are locked up for some reason, but you'd smell that, the abs would have nothing to do with your truck not wanting to shift into higher gears, probably a sensor to your abs is loose or got bumped

get some codes pulled...I can still see this as being that speed sensor or could be indicative of tranny problems. The codes will tell us which direction (or in my case it was both).
