To all you rebuilders of the older 4x4's. I'm rebuilding a truck for a family member, 1994 F150 4x4 plain Jane 4.9 six, and the bracket is broken for the floor shift 4wd lever. It mounts on the side of the transmission, and in this case it's an E4OD, and is aluminum. I called the local Ford dealer and a new one is, are you ready for this, $442.44.
Obviously a highly technical part in the eye's of Ford. What I'm asking is for those of you that have a parts pile and the time to look or the resources to help me locate a used one I would appreciate your help.
Currently the truck is in 2wd and can stay that way for a few months but I'd like to get it fixed and out of my garage.
Thank's in advance for any assistance you can provide......Jim
this breaks on LOTS of them. It's made of "pot metal", aka whatever the foundry had laying around. I took mine to a local welding shop and they zapped it back together for $10 using aluminum wire and a TIG welder.
remove the BIG bolt, not the little nuts and stuff. just the one that's ~ 1"
you need a real dealer and a real parts man, the part you want is f6tz7210ha and msrp is 268.25 , there is a few of us here who are parts guys or you can go thru the site sponsors

This is an updated assembly including a new lever, correct? That's what the parts guy told me is all that's available after I broke one. I don't remember the part number or price though. I ended up getting it welded and it's good as new.
