Overhead Gauge Pod Install

Hey guys.. I just got an overhead gauge pod to put a volt meter in and my trans temp.. I have to move my trans temp gauge from the A-pillar to make room for the DP tuner gauge switch that I've got coming from Jody !

Is there any write ups on wiring in a volt meter.. and are there any tips for installing the over head pod ????

Thanks a bunch !

When I wired my voltmeter (in the under dash pod) I just found a good clean 12v key-on power source.

On edit: congrats on the DP, you'll love it!

Yup, for a voltmeter - 3 wires, pos and neg plus dash light source. I like my autometers. Used them in my hot rods over the years and never had an issue. I know they don't match the factory gauges like some other brands but its all personal preference, right?

Just find a Key on switch and tap it for your Volts reading. You MAY have to lower your mirror to get it to fit, it depends on the truck, windshield and year... Overhead is my favorte pod.

Like I said, you may have to lower the mirror. I did on my factory widshield, but not on this 04 and up one... the one that says SUPERDUTY accross it.

Hey Joe.. I just did a test fit.... It wedges in between the mirror and the headliner.. No velcro no nothing ! Not sure if I'm going to get away with it like that or not.. I may have to take the mirror off like you said ! I have a big aluminum box that covers my back window anyways.. So I don't need the rear view at all to tell you the truth. We'll see how it goes tomorrow ! I have to paint the pod and then wire them up !

Does anyone know how these mirrors come off ???? Do they separate from the mount or is it all one piece ??????

They separate from the mount. According to the manual, it'll slide out. You have to rotate it so its vertical and pull down on the top of it. There's a special pair of pliers to reinstall it though. Maybe someone on here has the picture from the manual.
