My truck has 135K on it. I did look down into the turbo last night and the vanes appear to be in good condition, at least on the intake side. I am not sure what the IC boots are but I am willing to look at anything to get the truck back up to snuff.
The IC boots are the Inter-cooler boots. The rubber connections on the spider sometimes they will get loose and then you lose boost. Try checking and tightening up all the connections. Like I said, I don't mean to go completely off on a tangent, but sometimes it's something unrelated and fairly simple that gets overlooked.
I do know where the fuel pressure regulator is. I didn't even think to check that. I have to access it by taking the filter housing off correct?
You have to remove the plastic cover over the fuel filter to get to it, but do not need to remove the fuel filter bowl.
As for the 1247, Jason is right. Check the IC boots. The blue & black ones on the ends of the big aluminum tubes, and the orange ones that connect to the motor. You can also check your MAP hose (little plastic tube) to make sure there are no holes in that.
Hello everybody, I am new here. I just have a question I hope somebody can help me with. I have a 99 F-350 with the 7.3. I recently got some bad fuel that made my truck run like crap. I dropped the tank and cleaned it, replaced the fuel pump, and have replaced a couple of fuel filters. My truck ran well for a while but now I a slight loss of power and it doesn't seem to want to idle. I had a check engine light come on and the code was P1211. I looked this up and it says the injector pressure sensor above/below normal. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don't want to take this truck to the shop since my 04 6.0 is in there with a bad head gasket right now. Thanks in advance.
Thanks again everybody. I will check the IC boots and the fuel pressure regulator here in a few minutes. The problem seems to be all of the time; it does not matter if the engine is cold or hot.
Ok, I just had the truck at an idle, opened the drain valve for the fuel filter and I have some really good pressure, it sprayed everywhere. The funny thing is that when I opened the valve, the idle smoothed out to normal. When I closed the valve the idle became erratic again. I tested this a couple of times and every time I opened the valve it would smooth out. I am so confused. Any ideas?
I don't know first hand ,, but I remember reading on TDS about a small passage way in the FPR that gets plugged ,,IIRC , a pin or needle to unplug it ...

I've never heard of this, but from what you're describing it sounds as if you have an obstruction in the fuel return line and the increased back pressure at idle is causing your problems.
Thanks again everybody for all of your help. I have taken the FPR out, cleaned it really well, and blown out the fuel return line. Now the truck seems to idle ok when it is cold but as it warms up it looses power and doesn't want to idle. I am wondering if I haven't gotten some gunk past the filter and into the injectors. I am taking the truck in on Wednesday to get it diagnosed. Is there any chance that there is air somewhere between the fuel filter and the injectors? I am reaching for straws but if it is something I can fix I would rather do it myself.

That may have to do with ICP pressure,,, IPR o rings ,,ICP sensor ,problems ,(look for oil leaking from the sensor)...old oil...
