Best sub(s)to use?

heres my 2 cents on this subject. rockford fosgate, JL, and Kicker and the most known brand so many people who havent heard other brands will be baised with. dont get me wrong there all good, but there mainstream and are made to sell. if u want a good sub here are my personal choices: digital designs, Resonant enginerings, Shocker, Elemantal Designs, Infinity. they all are great subs.

IF YOU WANT SQ, THEN WHEN YOU LOOK FOR A SPEAKER LOOK AT THE SENSITIVETY LEVEL. THIS WILL TELL YOU HOW WELL A SPEAKER WILL REPRODUCE SOUND IN IT HZ RANGE. GENERALY, THE CLOSER TO 100db YOU CAN GET, THE BETTER THE SPEAKER WILL SOUND. YOU CAN GET SOME SPEAKERS THAT ARE GREATER THAN 100db, BUT THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. INFINTY PERFECT'S ARE GOOD, SO ARE VEGAS. KICKER'S AND FOSGATES GET THIER GOOD NAME BECAUSE THIER HZ RANGE IS SO LOW, HOWEVER THEY SACRIFICE SQ.

First off, efficiency is not a true measure of a subwoofer's potential output. Some companies use shady tactics for these tests. They may change the distance or power in these tests. The real factor is what vehicle they are going into, what size and type enclosure, and the power. If you have the wrong size enclosure you will not have the best results. If you want a good sub and don't mind throwin down some extra coin for it, go for the JL 10W7 and run it with a JL 500/1 amp. I have this in my truck and I hit about 142dB and its very clean. I admit that this is MY opinion and not everyone else's, but I like what I have, and I am confident that the many other people with this setup like it as well. I'm gonna stop now.

im sure ur set-up sounds fine, but for a w7 cheapest i seen was 550 and for that amp i seen 400. i dont think someone is going to spend near a grand for that when they can buy a cheaper and better sounding woofer and amp. to date these are my choices: Digital Designs, Resonant Enginerring, Shocker, Brhama, Elemental Desings. i can see ur a die-hard JL fan but there are better, cheap, better sounding woofers and amps out there. just my 2 cents. have a nice day
