I am laying out my new box, I don't have a time frame on the build though. What I am looking at right now is 2 12" subs, I know they've fit in this box, because I have done it twice, but it's not looking right this time. Figuring off a 4" magnet, I need one with a mounting depth of 3-3.75" If the magnet diameter is smaller, I can go much longer. I can't find the magnet size on the RFs I used to use, but This same box did fit a 12" P1 three years ago. Anyone know of a decent 12" sub about 100watts rms, I'd like 26hz or lower and fit my overall design? Or the magnet diameter of RF P1's? The design is set, I have this box in already with a pair of 10's and I don't think I can get it back out without removing the seat, so I at the max size. There was plenty of room with the 10's.
jl makes a great shallow mount.... what are you gonna do, cut the holes bigger while its in the truck? but installing subs into a generic sub box isnt reccomended. you wont get the performance out of it. oh, never mind, i just saw that you are looking for something around 100 watts. i didnt even know that they made subs that were rated that low.....
Some people don't want bump. I use a sealed box, so as long as I meet the volume spec it works out well. 100-150 watt is going to be just about right for my build.
I was considering Memphis all around. However their website is difficult to get specs off of and I didn't see much if any information on passive cross overs for the components. I didn't want to need separate channels for mids and tweeters.
