Question Clutch issues

I have a 1992 7.3L F250 Diesel. I have up to this point had zero problems with the clutch. Last week I was less than a block from home and stopped at a stop sign and when I went to put the truck in gear to take off my pedal literally just sank to the floor and would not come back up. I am new to the diesel but I've had manual transmitions before, but never had one have problems before. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
I checked the fluid level and it is good. Don't know where to go from here. I really can't afford much right now so the cheaper the better.

notwithak,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

Do you see any fluid leaking under the truck?

When the pedal is on the floor, is the clutch master cylinder where it is supposed to be?
Firewall cracks will let the clutch master cylinder move, which means the clutch does not get engaged when you push the pedal.

I'm not sure if there is a leakage under the truck right now it is in the ditch in front of my house. I will be able to look at it better once I get it out of there. If it stops raining long enough for the ground to dry up I might be able to move it more than a few feet in either direction. From the top it doesn't look like it but I need to be able to see the ground before I can say before.

ya you gotta get under it and see. it's either the slave or the master. Make sure if you get the new one you fill it up with fluid before you pump it up because those seals are easily blown out on a dry cylinder.

Clutch Issues

Well it finally stopped raining long enough for the ground to dry out and I got my truck out of the ditch. I will get under it this weekend and see what I can find. I'm sure I'll have more questions.

One thing I do know is that if I let is sit for a few minutes I get pressure back in the peddle. So I may have a leak in the hydrolic lines somewhere. Will see when I look.
