Just had the clutch pedal go to the floor on my '95 with 132000 miles. It would pop back up to the top of the travel if I pulled it with my hand but it was no longer connected to the clutch. Dealer said the clutch Master Cylinder actuation rod broke. Dealer replaced the Clutch MC and then clutch would not completely release from gears so the truck would not go into and out of gears easily, then it just plain would not go into gear. Dealer towed then said the bushing on the clutch pedal broke and have to replace the whole clutch pedal and assembly to replace the bushing. Sounds like a load there. OK, so the bushing is bad, can't you just replace the bushing??? It was done that way before. Did the bushing breaking cause the pedal to drop to the floor breaking the Clutch MC pushrod? Any help appreciated as I don't wat to find out after the fact that the dealer is screwing me.
The clutch and break pedal assem. is retty much a noservicable item. I've found that bracket the holds the pivot rod cracks and it allows the rod to **** to one side. I broke it twice on my F450 wrecker, I solved the problem by installing a LUK clutch and one peice flywheel. It takes less pressure to depress and dosen't strain the clutch linkage system like the stock setup.
