The main C4 case is also unique to the Bronco. All other C4's had case fill dipstick tubes. The Bronco C4 had the dipstick tube in the pan itself. You can use the case fill transmission, but you would need to block the hole in the case.
Actually the pan fill C-4 came out in 1970 and was used in many applications from trucks to Torinos. The case fill was still used on the smaller cars. The Bronco bellhousing is longer than the car.

Never seen a pan fill C4 on anything but a Bronco. I've parted out several
C4's over the years and have never came across one if they exist. Number Dummy, can you confirm this?
Where would the bellhousing be longer? Are you referring to depth for converter clearance with small and large TC's? According to what ND posted, there are several car applications that share the bellhousing with the Bronco. Maybe the Mustang (and similar performance models) used the small torque converter and housing?
Check out some 302 and 351 F-100's. They all have the dipstick in pan. Also Torino's with a 302 or the 351M had the stick in pan. I have one or two cores now like that. The length I meant to say depth. I have only run across one of those that way. I have one of the deep bellhousings that came from a Bronco.
