Question anyone using TPI Tech Gauges?

I finally bit the bullet and replaced my mostly non functioning instrument cluster. I bought a 5" quad set with Electronic speedometer. The best part about them is they are an exact fit into my 51's dash. The worst part is I am having a really difficult time calibrating the speedo. It's supposed to be a simple one push button calibration, but mine indicates double my actual speed.
Anyone have any expirience with this? What was the remedy? Unfortunatley TPI is closed until Monday and the 51 is my daily transportation.
Thanks a bunch guys!

I can sympathize; I have a Dakota Digital speedo on my motorcycle and somehow you are supposed to hold in that button while simultaneouslystarting the engine, and press the button with your right hand while riding...

I was able to download the cal. instructions for mine, have you looked at TPI's site to see if they are on-line?

Hey Ross. Do you need your temp sensor back? I gave up on trying to make the old Flathead Ford stuff work with a modern engine. All was working well and then my truck got struck by lightening about 6 months ago. I had to re-wire the entire truck from front to back, for a second time.Anyway, I threw in some mechanical temp and pressure gauges, my amp meter still worked and my speedo worked. I never could get the fuel gauge to work, so I got tired of carrying a gallon of gas in the bed of the truck and trying to calculate MPG's and inevitably running out of gas at the worst possible times.
So I bought the TPI's they fit like they were made for the 51. Spent most of the day wiring it all up, modifying the fuel sender to work with my tank, etc... All of the quad gauges worked perfectly out of the box. I just can't seem to get the speedo calibrated.

So to make a long story short, uh too late, I checked their website and all it has is a toll free number for support, mon-fri 8-4 Eastern. I did some checking and apparently the gauges are made for TPI by Faria, remember the 65 mustang and falcon rally packs?
I'm just hoping that I was really tired and missed something.

Hope all is well in the great South West!
Doug

usually double means there is a 4/8 cyl switch set wrong.

Wow, hit by lightning?! What all did it damage? I'll email you about the sender. I'll also send the Dakota Digital calibration instructions, I suspect all these aftermarket speedo's use a common chip.

ok, after re-reading the instructions I noticed I missed a step. Tried it once following the instructions to the letter, wow, works like a champ. I'll be posting pics of them installed, now that I don't think I'll rip em out.

TPI's here too

I looked and looked to find the big gages that would fit without cutting the dash. My 51 truck is not on the road yet but soon I hope it will be. I just found 2 new problems. Carter fuel pump not running and my brakes went away now that the carb rebuild is complete( I hope ).
