Currenty I have the factory tape deck with the factory CD changer in my 2001 Supercrew. I have a Pioneer DEH-P5200 in Dash CD player with CD changer hook up. Can I hook up the factory CD changer to this unit? Or is there a special connector needed?
I too wondered about this, I have an accessory input too and was wondering what to stick on that as well. I called car audio place once and was told I have to stay within brands, like pioneer with pioneer cd changer. I never pressed the issue, but considering some of the advice I've gotten from these guys in the past, I wouldn't be surprised to find that completely wrong.
There must be some way for the head to talk to the changer, as long as they speaking same languages, thats what I think would be the trouble. I would think, as time goes on, that more of a standard language would come along. Kinda like Beta and VHS, VHS won out and is standard. If you could get the engineering specs, you might be able to work a way out. Somehow, I doubt its as simple as a trip to the store for an adapter. I could be wrong.
