dpfe hoses
I have a 99 w/ 4.2. I have a quick question about connecting the hoeses from the dpfe sensor to the egr line. If im correct the HI is the barb closer to the exhaust manifold and REF is the one closer to the egr? Just thought id double check bc the barbs on the dpfe sensor (from advanced) are opposite which makes the hoses cross like an X which didnt make much sense to me.

Take the sensor back and get your money back. Then, order a Ford/Motorcraft one from one of the site sponsors who sells direct.
You will happier in the long run unless you're selling/dumping the truck.

Planned on it but have to now. For whatever reason the 2 lines keep on blowing/melting within not even a mile of driving. It ended up melting the dpfe sensor as well. I put the old one back on and it is still doing this. Hoses are connected like so.
HI on sensor - Barb closest to exhaust manifold on egr line/before restriction
RE on sensor - Barb closest to the egr valve/after restriction
HI on sensor - Barb closest to exhaust manifold on egr line/before restriction
RE on sensor - Barb closest to the egr valve/after restriction
