Code 2290- HPOP,IPR,ICP????? <hr style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> I've got a 04 that was built 10-14-03. It has 170k miles. It is an absolute pig as far as power goes. It starts and idles and runs smooth but sucks under any kind of load. The turbo and egr have been checked or replaced. It throws a 2290 code with no cel. I've read a lot of posts on the above parts. Which should I do first.
The last straw was this weekend. Pulling my boat I hit a strong incline at 70mph and was barely doing 45 when I hit the top a mile later. My wifes 7.3 never even blinks on this hill!
I've got to fix it, you can't give the damn things away. Please help, i've always been a ford guy but i'm going to have to go back to my 454 GMC if I don't get this fixed. I'm a good wrench but I don't know jack about these engines.

since the ICP is telling the PCM that the injector control pressure is to low I would try the IPR first since it is what actually controls the high oil pressure for these injectors to work properly. It also could be the connection on the IPR or the ICP.
Has the truck had the pigtail to the ICP replaced yet? That code Is saying that the injector control pressure is to low and being inferred by the confuser. The very first thing I would do is check that the ICP is indeed plugged in and the pigtail is not oil soaked. You have no power because the computer has the ICP set at 750 which is the default setting.Sofar as the computer knows the ICP is unplugged. Hope this helps.
Did you ever get it fixed and if so what was the problem My 04 is doing the same thing run and idle fine just not power with a 2290 code and no light on the dash.
my truck has 69K total 35K on the second factory crate motor.
I had the pigtail done
here is the deal I have an edge programmer on the truck and I notice that I had a P1334 Code so I took the truck to the dealer to get it fixed well they call me and told me I need to have a flash on the ECM and it would be fixed well 800 later they ended up replacing the throttle body. then I left the deal got to blocks thought I would check the programmer for a code again and now I have a P2290. Oh and they changed the oil while they had it. And the truck is a PIG no power lucky if I can get over 30mpr.
