p2290 code degas leak ROUGH idle power loss
OK, so the title hit the high points. My 2004 PSD 6.0 is being crazy. Some could be quiescence or could all be linked. IDK!! I've given my self and all the local Ford dealer ships a head ache over this. About a month ago I pulled out of my drive way and every thing was great on it, with a bed full of Oak wood I used the engine to help brake down a mountain. I got to the bottom and when the engine took the load from the trans (when i stopped) the truck ALMOST died. I hit the throttle to pull out and all seemed well until around 3100-3600 rpms and I got a MAJOR power loss. I get where i'm going and the truck has a ROUGH idle. I figured bad fuel. So i run it out, change the filters, (filters where NASTY and had corrosion on fuel/water separator "hex" plug) put fresh fuel in it, and some Ford fuel treatment. It did not fix the problem. I ran it a week or two like it was to make sure it wasn't bad fuel. The truck is still doing it today. My coolant is leaking out of the degas bottle every time I climb a mountain. I checked ICP sensor and it was good. The EGR has been electronically shut off. It always idles rough but it gets HORRIBLE when I use the engine to help break. If I think of more symptoms i'll post them, mean while ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
(FICM Replaced in January)
Factory head bolts/gasket
EGR cooler was taken apart and all new seals put in at about 70k miles it now has 145k miles.
I keep getting P2290 codes and cylinder contribution balance on cylinders "6" and "8".

Well just a thought. My truck had a similar issue. Upon heavy load/acceleration I heard a loud pop and lost a lot of power combined with a very choppy idle. I had blown the lower passenger boost tube off my intercooler. These trucks will run if one comes off but with little to no power. Have you inspected you boost tube couplings for any leaks. They are highly susceptable to leaking
Haven't checked that. I will though. Thanks!
I also just went down a mt. and again using the engine/turbo to brake. The problem has worsened. My response? Stop and read DTC's. I got codes P0266 (Cylinder two misfire/contribution) P0300(random miss fire) and P2290 again. Cleared them, restarted the truck and problem was better but still BAD.
The random "misfire" code is I'm guessing the cylinder "6" and cylinder "8" misfire/contrbution along with the cylinder "2" causing that code?
Some times I read DTC's and get a cylinder "6" code, sometimes a cylinder "8" code, and some times I get both. This time I got neither and an added cylinder "2" code.

Could it be my HPOP and the turbo is forcing to much oil some where? If so, what about the sct valve? Just replace valve or entire unit and valve?
These trucks also have a history of injector issues? I have 4 factory refurbished injectors should I go ahead and replace them?
Keep in mind she has 145k miles on her.
