hey my truck is in between a header change and it desperatly needs to be moved. can i start it and dive it up the driveway without manifolds on the exhaust?
It's been claimed you can warp the valves doing this, but have never met anyone than has had it happen. I used to move my race car all the time without the headers and never a problem.
No problems in moving it that way, Just as long as you dont let it come up to operating temp before dropping it in gear...LOL... then you stand a good chance of warping or cracking an exhaust valve....
I drove mine from the shop to the muffler shop with no pipes, right out of the exhaust manifolds. Loud as hell but fine. Just don't go to far. On another note never throw a small length of heavy chain in the bed of the truck. Makes your neihbors think you shot someone.
