Are you talking about the center cap for the rim??
No.. I've never heard of that. And I worked at a drag strip for a couple of years!
Why is that?
both firebird raceway and speedworld motorplex would make us all take those caps off, or for cars with wheel covers, those had to come off. they had too many of em fly off I'm guessing; and they checked the lug nuts during tech.

3.55s open diff and 34.5" tires... I'd have to bring a calendar to time mine...

Agreed on the caps...they make us pull center caps off the cars when autocrossing as well...in part because they don't want 'em to fly off, and in part so they confirm that all the studs and lug nuts are still there.
Few years ago at Milan Dragway, someone was running their Ford Van tow vehicle, not very fast, but they did get thru eliminations for a couple rounds.
Now, if you want to see what a street-driven van *can* do on a dragstrip, check out this one (driven to the strip):
I'll just leave the center caps on and see if they say anything. If I remember right when I rotated my tires, they were a pain in the ___ to take off anyways!
To be perfectly honest, and not to be mean to anyone, but I use to work at a drag strip out here in Southern California and was licensed for Tech. inspection.. and never heard of it. and never saw anyone loose their center caps either.. :/
Well I'm running in a class thats from 0 to 21.99 ET in the quarter mile. So I don't know.. just wanna go have fun. haha.
Well if u are realy gunna drag your truck,,, lol,,in stock form your bigest problem is going to be wheel spin. DONT mash the gas when the light go's green roll into it, and i got to agree , if ya are showing up in a 16 sec truck i would be mebrassed also , but thats just me since i own a 87 convertable GT stang the ran 11.7@115 and thats with mostly stock parts.but it started out running low 14's tho with 135K miles on it.
main thing with such a heavy truck tho u need a bunch of tork to get that thing going..
