I went to my local junk yard today and pulled what I thought was a Sterling 10.25 out of an E-350 van. (It was the only Ford in the lot that had a full float rear-end). When I got it home, I wanted to know what gears it had so I took off the diff. cover (The tag was un-readable, due to rust). To my surprise, it isn't a Sterling at all, but it's a Dana 80(?). I wasn't able to decipher the numbers on the ring gear, so I was hoping someone here might be able to. The ring gear read as follows: 1856 92195DANA T32503 MAIAU 384 4613
Since you have the cover off just count the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide that by the number of teeth on the pinion gear. This will tell you the ratio.
It's also pretty common for the gear manufacturers to stamp the teeth numbers. You will see the 4613 at the end of the numbers you found on the gear. Sometimes it will be 41-10, 41 10 etc. meaning 4.10 of course.
