any of you oldies out there seen this country like this before, with everyone walking on egg shells, i know gas and oil is higher than its ever been, but hows the past experiences with recessions and such

Yep, the predictors of dooms day were working overtime when gas hit $ .50 / gal. Back in a galaxie far, far, away.

Last I checked this is America. I don't think any companies should be questioned on their profits. Oil companies profits are 6-8%. Newspaper profits are 30-33%. Oil companies have a HUGE volume that is why it seems they are ripping people off. Congress should be questioned on their tax & spend policies!

Yep, these Senate hearings are just smoke and mirrors to make it seem like they are doing something. It's more complicated than the "Big Oil" theory.
