Keep the muffler/cat or junk it?

Taking my truck this Friday for the sniff test but never seen those guys look underneath for a muffler or a kitty in the past. Maybe got lucky and found a place where they turn a blind eye to this stuff? They are also a performance parts installer so maybe that's the deal.

Damn, I feel for you folks that have to go through this crap. For me it was always in who you knew. When I was really heavy into drag racing in WNY I knew so many men in the automotive world I could just get my stupid NY State inspection stickers mailed to me without even having to take the vehicle in. Then when things got a little tougher and I no longer lived around all of these folks I had known all of my life, I just found a better State to register my diesel vehicles in, and the one gasoline vehicle I have I found people at a RV park that lived in a state with no inspections and used their address to register the Vdub. So, I guess it's still in planning ahead, or meeting the right people in the right places. I will admit to being a world class non conformist. They've finally forced me to wear seat belts because I simply can't afford the fines.
