With everyone talking of stage 2's and big oil I'm getting very tempted Looking around I've seen some injectors for the IH trucks/busses, anyone know which ones would be comparable to 160 cc stage 2's? I'm wanting to think the last ones I saw online were 230cc? HPOP should swap right over right?
What I'm wondering is at a bus auction they go pretty cheap. Buy a used bus, pull the motor and sell the rest for scrap. Most likely break even cost wise, other than the donor motor might have 100-200k miles on it. Worth while or am I day dreaming and should stick w/ dyi's and 17*??
Most IH motors have the same injectors as we do except the HO motor which has AC's which are the same as stage 1 (160cc). HPOP is the same as ours as well. The 230 you saw were probably Hybrids
So then if him or I was to get an older bus that is running a IH engine without the HO motor then we could swap over the injectors and the HPOP, direct bolt in? And what would those sticks most likely be, i.e. 160cc 180cc 230cc?
If its not the HO motor you will have the same stuff thats already in your truck. If it is the HO motor you will have stage 1 injectors and that stock HPOP.
So the stock HPOP on the bus would be the same as the stock 15* HPOP on our trucks? If so then it would probably throw the CEL under WOT? If the injectors would only be stage 1's for a HO engine with the same 15* HPOP then it probably isn't worth the added cost and hassle.
