Truck died AGAIN!!!

Well I was drivin down a main road, truck died while driving, I coasted off to a parkin lot and got towed home. Heres the symptoms, but I think I'm hot onto the problem.

My battery light is not flashing, but pulsing as well as volt meter.
No WTS light.
If I turn the key 3/4 way to start, and go under the hood, I can hear something shortin out. Wires to the glow plugs???

Don't think its the alternator. If i take this one little red w/green stripe wire off, the shorting out sound goes away. I'm just tryin to back track this wire, find the s hort.

Yea, the gpr looks like the starter solenoid correct??? If i take that little red wire off, the clickin/shortin noise goes away. I'm goin back out now to hunt down the problem some more.. If i had a pic i'd show you, dont even have a camera around now.

red/lt green goes from fuse #22 (hot in run or start) to the latching coil of the GPR. the circuit is completed through the purple/ orange wire to the #101 pin of the powertrain control module, where the module gives it a ground to complete the circuit. you could have a short in the ppl/org wire, or a false signal from the pcm.

I was just out playin around wtih it, didnt get too far. If i turn the key to start, and go under the hood, I hear loud clickin noises, comin from the gpr and the relay thats in the power distribution box (second one over from drivers fender). Its just a PITA tryin to trace the wires back, find the short.

Are you testing the two small terminals or the big ones?

I tested all of them just to see. THe small terminals are readin open. However if i take the small relay out int he black distribution box, it still makes the ticking/shortin sound. does the little relay feed the gpr relay or is it the other way around????
