well the cheapest upgrade for the intake would be the 6637 filter from NAPA, around here its about $55.00. But After market K&N has a pretty decent one, and so does aFe.
yea another MINUS for K&N. aFe is good, buy overpriced IMO, Go with tymar or order a NAPA part number FIL6637 and with a piece of 4" exhaust fab up your own intake
The tymar dosent look like much for $150. A 4 inch intercooler hose off a Magnum from work and an old intercooler pipe and a filter. I think I'll try and make my own.

Thanks for all the replys.
NOW YOUR TALKING!!!!!!
it will look something like this when you are done fabricting
i read somewhere you dont want to get these filters from napa because they are not the same as the tymar filters you want the donaldson filter its filter is made to shed the water and the ones that napa sells do not they are the same size and all the donaldson filters to a smaller micron may order the filter from dale at tymar. my .02
you can build one that looks exactly like a tymar. I built this one with parts all from napa except the clamp around the filter to keep it off the inner fender

The napa filter is a reboxed Donaldson filter. Have the Duralite (patented Donaldson media) sticker on it and everything. Tymar's filter from my research and the part numbers provided also doesn't use the moisture resistant media either. Besides I have driven in blizzards, buckets of rain and snow plowing and never had a drop of water on my filter.
