1994 F-350 4x4
Has anyone rebuilt there transfer case?
Mine seems to be doing some slipping and/or clunking when Im stuck.

You might want to look into it ASAP before some expensive stuff tries to jump out of the case.

Joe I think the 4407's are used in 250's and the 1356 in 350's. I have two 1356's, one is pto one is not. any body want a PTO t-case??

How does the PTO work? Does it spin all the time or is there another lever to engage it? I think it would be good to have for when and if you needed it. Kinda like the gun thing. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Anyways does it come out the front or rear? I would assume rear.

The PTO will spin any time the trans is in gear. If needing stationary PTO put the t-case in neutral. The PTO mount is on the right side of the t-case.

Tj

That PTO setup could come in handy when the bio system is up and running.
Would be a nice to be able to pump the dirty oil or transfer of the bio after.

I have racked my brain for a use for the PTO option in my truck but I just can't find a good use for it. To collect WVO I am using a super sucker using a 100 gallon propane tank that I will pull vacuum on with 1 of 2 pumps I have (12 or 110 volt). I did think about running a hydraulic pump off it then I could power what ever I want with hydraulic motors but to me its not really worth the effort.

Well my truck is a 250 and i had the 1356 t-case so i dont know there. i did have a truck that had a hydrolic wench that was one of the meanest wenches i had ever seen. pulled the truck up to a big tree front bumper first and pulled a smaller tree about 8" in diameter out of the ground. thats one option but who needs that.

Well that shoots that theory. Must depend on the day of the week the truck was built. LOL I don't know.

IIRC the year of the truck determines what transfer case it has and not F250 vs F350 or auto vs manual. 95 and earlier have 1356's and 96 and laters have 4407's.

4407's also have a flange on the rear output that the u-joint bolts to and the 1356's have a yoke that is splined to the output shaft.

Mine is the spline into the output shaft so I guess its a 1356.
