That would involve complete teardown of both transmissions. The tailshaft is practically the last part to come out. If you are able to do that kind of job yourself, than you are better off rebuilding the transmission you have.

I think thats a fair deal considering that its probably one of the safest sources for a properly assembled E4OD. The torque converter is not to be trusted for anything more than a bone stock diesel though. If you ever want to upgrade the engine and add a turbo, you will want a billet torque converter, but if you are staying stock it should be good enough.

I doubt it includes labor, but I did hear from other cases here that ford dealers are giving pretty fair deals on E4OD remans. I think the best warranty I ever saw was 5 years/50000 miles. Don't remember who or how much though.

the gear is part of the output shaft , but there are several possibilities
it could have a production overrun shaft in it which has teh gear on it or it may have been rebuilt and has an older shaft installed
the only way to swap the shafts is to completely disassemble the transmissions
but there are some other changes that took place in 94 internally so if the 94 has the 94 updated design input hub shaft center support and output shaft you have more swapping to do
