1972 tailgate interchange 74??
Is there a difference in a 72 tailgate compared to a 74?? I have a decent shape one on my 74, But a coworker has a mint tailgate off a 72 that I can have for free, so I wanted to know if it'll bolt right up??

1967/72 (C7TZ-9940700-A) is the same and will also fit 1964/66's.
1973/79 (D3TZ-9940700-A) is the same.
I've never seen a 1967/72 t/gate on a 1973/79 pickup.
The width is the same, the styling is different. The hinges I know are a different design.
Since I don't have parts catalogs handy (I'm in TN), I'm not sure if the 1964/72 latches are compatible with 1973/79's.

I have a pre-72 tailgate on my 74 and it is correct the lines do not match up, but the brackets and hinges work fine. I did have to space out the latch brackets on the bed to get the tailgate to stay shut.
