stick play

i have a 69 f-100 that has a warner t-28 tranny. it has alot of play.

it shifts fine but there is alot of play when its in gear is that normal or is there something i can do to fix it. i havent had the truck long so i dont know if its fixable. any help out there.

what? are you talking about the gear selector or the clutch pedal? are you sure you dont have a t18? those are very common these days for off roading and are not hard to rebuild.

what i mean is when its in gear the stick moves alot in 1st,2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and rev.

try removing part of the boot and the housing for it is properly secured
