rusty oil pan
i have a 99 PSD and heard of the rusty oil pans on the early PSDs and recomened using JB weld over the rust but it flakes off after awhile is there any other fixes other than pulling the pan thnx

If it is not rusted all the way through, get the "starter kit" from POR-15.
Sand the rusted areas to bare metal, and coat with a couple coats of POR-15.
I did mine about a year ago and its holding up great.
By the way, do whatever you can to save it now, because you have to pull the motor to change the pan and get it to reseal properly.

Fixing surface rust is super easy. Remove the rust down to clean steel, degrease and paint. Its amazing that people let their oil pans rust trhough when a little paint and some time is all thats needed. Same apllies to diff covers as well.
