Hello all,
When I bought my truck it had 32's or 32's cant remember. I put wider and bigger 35's on and now it is rubbing the leaf springs. Any ideas on how to prevent this. Please dont tell me not to turn so far!!
Thanks
Jason
More info on the truck would help - you may just have to live with it or get wheels with a different offset. I have 295's and I rub only on hard left turns.
Are you still running the stock rims? If not, what is the backspacing of the rims you have? I think for that year superduty your offset should be somewhere arond 4.5". I have a leveling kit and 35" Mud Grapplers on aftermarket rims and have never had the tires rub the leafs.
If you are just trying to keep it from rubbing the leafs, then adjust the bump stops. It will not limit your turning radius any more than it already is but will keep from ruining your tires. I welded some more meat to my stops and then just ground down until I got about 1/4 inch between tire and leaf .

I think they are the factory. Here is a picture. You tell me?
Thanks

I would have to say that if you want to "fix" the problem you will have to decrease the backspacing on the tires a little. I like the idea of fixing the turn stop as suggested above. Cheapest way to go if you have access to a welder!
Otherwise you will be buying four different wheels, or a coil conversion. Does it seem to be limiting your turning ability any? Rubbing badly or just barely?

Thanks. Nice truck to huh?!?! Yeah it rubs really hard if I try to turn hard.
Mine rub if I turn them tight. Only when I 'm trying to manuver in a tight place. I just listen for the rubbing and back off a bit. Hasn't been a problem at all. Just pay atension and don't worry about it.
