E4OD Question

Hello yall, quick question for you experts. I have a 97 F-250 4x4 LD with the 5.4. It has the E4OD and it just turned 109,000. Well i had some issues with it shifting weird , slamming in and out of different gears, o/d light flashing. Long story short i had it rebuilt for 2k, I had them add a cooler to it as well. I probably let them make a few bucks off of me. Well i get the truck back and drive it about 25 miles on the highway and it starts slamming into every gear again. Turned the truck off, started it up and it was fine....another long drive (20 + miles) on the freeway and it did it again. Took it in, they cleared the codes for the speed sensor. Drove to work today and it did it again, now he says being i have oversized ties and a lift (3" suspension lift, 35" tires) and my speedo wasnt calibrated that that will throw a code for the speed sensor until i calibrate it. Is he blowing smoke or is it a legit statement? I'm only 8mph off and i'll calibrate if need be but someone arm me with knowledge please.

He's blowing smoke. You still have a problem with the speed sensor. Either the sensor is bad, or the wiring to the sensor is broken or shorted, or the target wheel in the diff that the speed sensor looks at is damaged.
