I've been wanting to lift my f250 but since I tow with it I don't want to lose any power. I just really want to clear 35s with the minimal lift possible. I have and automatic tranny and 3.55 gears. I plan to tow a two car trailer, so will 35s be a bad addition?
I used to have a 4'' lift and 36s on my 350 and I towed with it no prob. I know you have a 250, but I didnt feel like I lost any power, wasnt really towin much wieght though.
Talk to c00n, I know hes got a 250 with 35's, and I've seen some of his pics of him towin a fair load.
i run 6 inches of lift with 35's, i do however run 4.10 gears. with my current setup the truck drives and tows like it is running stock tires on 3.55's. i know of plenty of people running 3.55's and big tires with little to no problems but if you are going to tow frequently then run a 4 inch lift with 33's, or change to 4.10's to run the 35's.
Can I run 35s on a 4 inch lift? I had thought of running 35s for regular driving(and weekend wheeling) and 33s when I tow, I just wasn't sure if 35s fit on a 4 inch.
tim, i would lift with 33's on mine due to the fact that i look at all scenarios in my rig, i think the 33's would fit on a 250 with a shimmed bumper but if i were to go offroading then i lose performance with clearance and steering. the 4 inch and 33's is the perfect combo for a good loking stance and a perfect offroad combo on a 250 truck, the same applies to 35's and a 6 inch lift on a 250. you can clear them with less for daily driving but its not the same when you want to play.
and definatly do rear springs, the ride is better and the towing isnt affected (for me anyway)
Yeah once again I was thinking only what I have. 350 not 250. 285's on my 250 did work and didn't rub with a leveling kit but it would have looked better higher
