What did I do to deserve this stupid truck? It's been to the dealership three times for the same stupid problem. The first and second times they reset the computer or something and it didn't help. Then they replaced the wiring harness and it was ok until recently. It's an 06 F350 6.0L DRW with a service body. 15k-16k miles on it.
That's enough of my rant:
Anybody know what could be causing this? The truck is generally kept in a garage unless it is hooked to a trailer.
I don't think anybody will be able to tell you whats happening without knowing what the problem you are experiencing is, just telling guys what the dealership has done will not help anything.
Sorry... Went back and edited the original post and must have deleted it. D'OH! The truck isn't firing on all the cylinders. When I started it the other day to put it in the garage it fired up and ran extremely rough. I figured maybe it was just acting funny because I'd just started it. I drove it over to the garage and as I drove it over the whole truck was shaking. It was shaking like when you get a flat tire on the highway.
When I was pulling my turbo off I noticed the injector wiring is surprisingly unprotected. Its close to the edge of a heat shield, I wouldn't doubt it if there was a wire chafing issue and a short.
Hate to drag up an old topic, but I just thought I'd let everyone know that I took it to the stealership and they said the #3 injector was shot and they replaced it so the truck's going to get picked up after the holiday and hopefully it will go more than 5k miles without dying.
