75-80mph issues

Hey guys i just had a question if any one has had an issue when they reach the 75-80 mph limit ...from what i understand its like a jerking/shaking motion. This is a vechile of a family member so i haven't actually been inside the truck when this has happened. He told me that it felt like the jerking/shaking motion recently stopped. So my question is this a common issue or is/was this bad fuel....sorry for the long post thanks in advance.

I too have that issue. For me it appears to happen when I get to 80 mph and am holding at that speed. It seems like the best way to describe it is a hesitation. I keep forgeting to ask my service guy about it when I take it into the shop. It doesnt to it all the time, so I forget to mention it. I will have to make it a point to write it down so I remember to ask on the next visit.

I have not seen this issue in my truck yet. It does sound as if you need to speak to a service advisor and see if this problem is more prevelant.

Is it an F-450? Because if it is that's the speed limiter.

Definitely sounds like the speed limiter. that is what it will do, however you should not reach it until you get to at least 80. Mine does it at 83. I think on the 450's it is supposed to be limited at 80.

Mine is an 08 F-350 DRW I dont believe it is a speed limiter, because she will go faster with no issues. It just seems to do it if I am cruising at 80 and am just in the throttle enough to maintain 80. any faster and it stops doing it, and any slower it does not do it either.

On a side note, how do you get the signature line with all of your truck info? I want to enter all that info so everyone can see what I have?

Speed limit is determined by tire rating on the truck.

Mine did the same thing on occasion for a while but hasn't done it in a while now. I did notice it went into regen shortly after it did it so I assumed it was related. Mine was exactly as you described....just holding 75-80 and accelerate a little to go up a hill and almost felt like an old car backfiring through the carburator.

Thanks guys for the replys. I forgot to mention it is a 08 F350 DRW. Ill mention it to him about the speed limiter , but from what i am aware the issue has not come up again and i think he has been able to move it past 80mph with no problems. It "went away" as he described it about a week later when he actually was towing.

75-80mph issues

So far, my 08 F-350 DRW does not seem to have any problem like that. Runs fine.
