True Blue, I have a 1997, auto, cc, 4x4 and I get between 16-18 mpg on the free way if I stay at 70mph. (2200 rpm). I also run 4.10 gears, and 285/75r16. try and keep the rpm's down. With the cost of fuel it's a real insentive.
My best ever MPG was 18. The RPMs were steady at 2000 and there was maybe 600lbs. in the back. Kinda slow going with the 4.10 gears but not too bad. This is after a bunch of mods, before any mods it was about 3 MPG less. Normal for me is around 16MPG.
I know Tire pressure comes into play as well. What are you guys running your pressure at. The door jam says 55psi for front for me and 80 in back at so many Kilo Pascals, which I don't know how to convert.
I have 3.55 w/o LS and I get 14 MPG with 42psi all around.
Maybe I should stiffen them up a bit.
I am thinking I am also having injector problems.
I am using Diesel Power and Power Services, Kleen.

Any recommendations?
42 is way low for the front I would think, you can probably get away with that in the rear with no load (it does ride a lot better). If I'm going on a road trip I run pretty close to the max all the way around. Rides worse, but less hurtful in the wallet area.
